Pentax 12-24mm f/3.5-4.5 lens patent

In addition to a patent for the already announced 25mm f/4 medium format lens, Pentax recently also filed a patent 201263756 in Japan for a APS-C sized 12-24mm f/3.5-4.5 lens (Pentax already has a 12-24mm f/4 lens):

  • Zoom ratio: 1.94
  • Aperture: 3.6 - 3.9 - 4.6
  • Focal length: 12.33 - 23.91mm
  • Lens length: 127.15 - 135.49mm
  • Lens design: 15 elements in 12 groups
  • Three aspherical elements
  • Three low-dispersion elements
