Nikon at 2012 Photokina

For the 2012 Photokina show, Nikon is expected to introduce the full frame Nikon D600 DSLR camera and a new Nikkor 1 18.5mm f/1.8 mirrorless lens (50mm equivalent). The official announcement is expected on or around September 13th, 2012. Nikon already announced several compact cameras, including their first Android based Coolpix model. The Nikkor 800mm f/5.6 lens will also be on display at their Photokina booth.

Back in 2009 when I started, my main goal was to support NikonRumor and LeicaRumors with additional news and rumors from other manufacturers. This was the reason I never reported any Nikon and Leica related topics on this blog - I assumed that everybody was already reading my other two websites. Moving forward to 2012: looking at the blog's statistics, I realized that PhotoRumors has grown and now has its own audience. I already received several emails from readers asking me why I don't cover Nikon and Leica products. Starting from today I am planning to report on all major Nikon and Leica related news on PhotoRumors. To better understand my audience, please vote on this poll:
