The black Fuji X100s camera will be a limited edition?

The black Fuji X100s camera was officially announced in Japan today. Something that was not mentioned before (or maybe I missed it): the black Fuji X100s will actually be a limited edition run and only 1,000 pieces will be produced:

This is very strange because the US price of the black X100s is identical to the silver version (same price listed also at B&H and Adorama). Could it be that those are the prices for the body only? The global Fujifilm website lists the black X100s camera to be sold with the following accessories and if the US price is correct, you will be getting them basically for free:

  • Leather Case LC-X100S Black ($86.50)
  • Wide Conversion Lens WCL-X100 ($309)
  • Lens Hood LH-X100 Black ($69.91)
  • Adapter Ring AR-X100 Black ($39)

The other possibility is that the black X100s limited edition camera will be released only for the Japanese market, but this doesn't make much sense.

The black Fuji X100s will start shipping in Japan on February 22nd.
