Samyang cancelled their plans for a 50mm f/1.2 lens

Samyang 50mm f:1.2 lens
Last year Samyang hinted that they are working on a new 50mm f/1.2 lens. A reader recently asked the company on Facebook for some updates and Samyang responded that the 50mm f/1.2 lens will not be released.

huh, I sent the hint. you may be right. I also asked all the other samyang/bower/opteka/falcon/rokinon FB pages as well, they have yet to reply. we shall see.

I really hope they at least make a 50mm f1.4

Yeah, just because it’s not the f/1.2 variant doesn’t mean they’re not releasing any other 50mm, might as well match the rest of their main primes and be f/1.4

Not realising sounds like it’s not transpiring or not being developed. Maybe crappy translation software on their side?

Well that’s disappointing, was looking forward to this lens

      much cry
      such disappoint

Oh bummer, I was waiting for this lens, but I guess after Sigma offering such good lenses with AF at such low prices, they must step up a bit their game to give a decent lens worth the money.

considering they could make an awesome 85mm f1.4, and sell it for $270, I bet they could have way undercut sigmas $400 ask.
