ImagingResource published an interview where Canon's executive initially confirmed the company's plans to release the Canon EOS M2 mirrorless  camera to the US market (the M2 is currently available only in Asia). IR later received and update from Canon USA, where they denied any plans for bringing the M2 to the US:

IR: What can you say about the future of the EOS M system? The original EOS M has been discontinued, and the EOS M2 didn't come to the U.S. at all. Will we eventually see the M2 in the U.S., or will you wait until the next generation? Or will there be a next generation?

Go Tokura/Canon (via translator): There are plans for the M2 to arrive in the U.S.

[Editor's note: We received an update after we went to press that Canon USA does not have plans to sell the EOS M2 at this time. We'll let you guys know if this changes!]

In the US and Europe you can purchase the Canon EOS M2 on eBay.
