I received some additional information on the upcoming Zeiss Loxia manual focus lenses specially designed for full frame mirrorless cameras – the first two models that will be announced at Photokina this year will be 35mm f/2 and 50mm f/2. Stay tuned for additional details.
Fujifilm officially announced the previously rumored X30 compact camera. The price of the X30 is $599.95 (available for pre-order in black and silver). Sample images taken with the X30 can be found here. Additional details:
Zeiss has a new Photokina teaser on their blog – it looks like they will be announcing several new lenses. The lens on the top left seems to be for a mirrorless camera, while the big lens on the lower left I think is the new Otus (see Photokina 2014 rumors roundup).
Update: the camera is now officially announced. Casio will soon announce a new EX-FR10 action camera with a detachable LCD screen that can be used as a remote control. Here are the specifications:
Another one bites the dust: the Fujifilm GF670 medium format rangefinder is now discontinued. The camera is currently listed as backordered at Adorama and B&H and the prices are already going up on Amazon and eBay.
The above screenshot (found on dpreview) shows an online ad for the upcoming Fujifilm X30 camera by the UK retailer Jessops. The specs read: 2/3″ X-Trans CMOS II sensor, real time viewfinder, 3″ 920K dots premium clear tilting LCD, world’s fastest AF at 0.06.
Update #1 – there is also a “photo” version of this lens (50mm f/1.5 AS UMC): Update #2 – US pricing announced: $549 (available in Canon EF, MFT, Nikon F, Sony E+A mounts).
