With their latest software update, Lytro introduced a new "Focus Spread" feature that allows you can independently adjust the depth of field after for a specific portion of the image:

"In traditional photography, the only way to focus on two subjects at different depths is to stop down the aperture and sacrifice bokeh. As a result, you get a distracting background instead of beautiful out of focus blur. With Focus Spread, you can still keep both subjects in focus while independently adjusting the amount of dramatic bokeh in the background and/or foreground."

The Lytro Illum light field digital camera is currently $300 off.
