First, a quick report on the new Canon EOS 5DS/R camera from a reader who attended a recent 5DS event in Asia (click on images for larger view):

  • The Canon 5DS/R will start shipping in June, 2015
  • MSRP in Asia will be around HK$26-27k
  • The camera does feel heavy and sturdy
  • Continuous shooting is slow as expected
  • Shutter operation is soft (as in the 5DIII)
  • The duplex display inside the viewfinder feels a bit complicated
