  • wow. battle of the trade ups. now sony doing it too?

    • Chaitanya

Samsung also did it before going bust.

Here it was mostly stores that did it to go below suggested retail price. You could go to the store with a molded up film camera and get a €200 discount.
they also did it for the fuji x pro 1

Yeah pretty sure there was NO ONE shooting Samsung.

    • Panic before D850?

      • Jeffry De Meyer

        nah, just moving inventory

    • nwcs

Sony did it with the original A7. Except, if I recall right, they accepted any camera whether new or old at that time.

  • TinusVerdino

Instead of a rebate you have to part with your old camera? No thanks.

  • Caleb Berg

Yes, this is absolutely a response to the much anticipated D850. Why wouldn’t they try to improve their full frames appeal, on the release of another premium full frame choice.

So I trade in my Leica M240 for a $500 credit on an A9??? What a deal.

    • Caleb Berg

It says Adorama will pay you 70% of the “value” of your trade in, plus the $500 bonus.

      • CHD

        Ahh…ok…slightly better then.
