New Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF FE lens rumored to be announced soon

Zeiss is rumored to announce a new Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF FE lens - not sure what the new CF abbreviation exactly means. This will be the fifth Batis lens (see the currently available Batis lenses in the picture above). Here are the details:

  • Name: Batis 2/40 CF
  • Distagon design
  • Min shooting distance: 0.24 m
  • With focus limiter (Full / ∞ ~ 0.4 m / 0.5 m to 0.24 m)
  • Filter diameter: 67 mm
  • Lens size: slightly bigger than the 85mm Batis lens
