Nikon announced the development of a 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens. This is the only information we have on the new lens:

  • Will offer a compelling combination of portability and performance
  • Significantly smaller and lighter than comparable predecessors
  • Phase Fresnel (PF) lens element
  • Light enough to use hand-held
