The upcoming Canon EOS R5 camera already registered in Korean certification agency + updated/rumored specifications


The Canon EOS R5 full-frame mirrorless camera is already registered with the Korean National Radio Research agency – a clear indication for the official announcement is coming in the next 30-90 days:


Here are the previously reported Canon EOS R5 details:

  • dual pixel AF available in all 8K modes
  • Auto Focus: body, face and eye animal detect
  • Newly developed full-frame CMOS sensor
  • 8K video recording
  • Up to 12 fps with a mechanical shutter

  • 40-45MP sensor
  • No touchbar
  • Larger battery

and here is the latest set of rumored Canon EOS R5 specifications:

  • 45mp full-frame CMOS sensor
  • IBIS (5 stops with IBIS alone, 7-8 stops of correction when used with in-lens stabilization)
  • 12fps mechanical, 20fps electronic
  • Dual card slots
  • Scroll wheel added to the back
  • Liveview/Movie toggle like previous EOS DSLRs
  • Larger capacity battery, but looks like the LP-E6
  • 8K @ 30fps
  • 4K @ 120fps
  • 4K @ 60fps
  • Built-in 5GHz WiFi
  • New battery, but the same shape and compatibility as the EOS 5D Mark IV
  • Launching in July 2020
