Panasonic planning to release affordable L-mount full-frame mirrorless camera, no plans for APS-C, will continue to work on new MFT products


PhotoTrend published their interview with Yosuke Yamane, Director of Panasonic Imaging Business Division - here is a quick recap:

  • With L-mount Panasonic has 10% of the market in full-size mirrorless cameras
  • The Panasonic S1 is the best seller
  • Panasonic wants to expand their product line and introduce affordable L-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras
  • Panasonic will continue to work on MFT and L-mount products, with no plans for APS-C L-mount based mirrorless products
  • Three new prime lenses will be launched by the end of 2021. There are also plans for new wide-angle, standard and telephoto zoom
