CIPA December and full 2020 year numbers are out


CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their camera production data for November 2020 (orange: 2020, black: 2019, blue: 2018, click for larger view):

Full calendar year came in at 5.308m ILC bodies.  It was 8.46 million in 2019, 10.76 million in 2018 and 11.68 million in 2017.  
Cumulative Mirrorless shipped value is now 255% of DSLR shipped value.   

Full Year 2020 (All comparisons to Jan-Dec 2019):

DSLR Units : 2.375m -47% YTD
DSLR Shipped Value: ¥96.76 billion -45% YTD

Mirrorless Units: 3.957m  -26% YTD
Mirrorless Shipped Value: ¥247 billion -13% YTD

Compact Units: 3.579m -47% YTD
Compact Shipped Value: ¥76.36 billion  -41% YTD

Lenses for smaller than 35mm Units: 5.4 million -42% YTD
Lenses for smaller than 35mm Shipped Value: ¥76 billion -41% YTD

Lenses for 35mm and larger Units: 3.622 million, -26% YTD
Lenses for 35mm and larger Shipped Value: ¥176.35 billion -26% YTD

Mirrorless unit share (of Mirrorless + DSLR): 55.3% (was 46.8% Jan-Dec 2019)
Mirrorless Shipped Value share: 71.9% (was 61.8% Jan-Dec 2019)

The ratio of lenses shipped to bodies shipped is 1.70 for 2020.  It was 1.68 for 2019.
