Panasonic is working on a new 18mm f/1.8 ultra-wide-angle lens for L-mount – here is a quote from the latest press release:

“To further strengthen the S-Series lens system, development is underway for a new 18 mm ultra wide angle fixed focal length lens with F1.8 large aperture.”


Panasonic will soon have a full line of five fast (f/1.8) prime lenses for L-mount – from B&H Photo:

“The new S 35mm f/1.8 joins Panasonic’s family of f/1.8 aperture primes including the 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm (with an 18mm f/1.8 arriving in the future).”

This Panasonic 18mm f/1.8 lens was already listed on the Panasonic Lumix L-mount lens roadmap as a “large aperture wide fixed focal length”:
