Today Leica announced a new robust, limited-edition version of the Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH lens in matte black finish with a special paint that is extremely scratch-resistant:

  • Special scratch-resistant matte black paint finish
  • Muted green-infilled engravings
  • Built-in retractable lens hood
  • Black lens dot
  • Limited to 450 pieces worldwide

The interesting part is that the price is $4,495 - $500 cheaper than the regular 28mm Summicron version - here are both lenses side-by-side:
