What’s next for Canon? (Canon EOS RF mirrorless camera & lens roadmap)

I already reported the rumored Canon EOS RF-S mirrorless APS-C lens roadmap. Here is what Canon RF cameras are expected/rumored to be announced next:

  • The next Canon RF mount camera will be a full-frame model
  • Canon EOS R1 is expected in 2023
  • A high megapixel Canon EOS RF camera with 100+ megapixels is expected in the first half of 2023 (the announcement could be in 2022)
  • Replacements for the Canon EOS R and Canon EOS RP models

Here is another breakdown of expected Canon RF cameras:

  • Canon R1: Canon flagship camera
  • Canon R3: Canon FF sports/wildlife camera
  • Canon R5: Canon 5D series replacement
  • Canon R6: combo of speed and performance

  • Canon R8: possible replacement of Canon EOS R
  • Canon R9: possible Replacement of Canon EOS Rp
