Tamron is doing great according to their latest financial results and they are planning to introduce another three new lenses by the end of the year (2022) in addition to the already announced Tamron 17–70mm F2.8 Di III-A VC RXD and Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD:


Here is a recap of Tamron's 2nd quarter FY2022 financial results:

  • Net sales increased by more than 15%,
  • Operating income increased by more than 1.5 times (significant increase in operating income by about 40% YoY)
  • Gross margin increased by about 2 percentage points,
  • Operating income, ordinary income, and net income reached historic high
  • Increase of net sales excluding impact of exchange rate: Photographic Products +1,390 million JPY


Here is the latest company forecast:

  • Sales of own-brand products is expected to increase by double-digits, and sale of OEM products will remain flat.
  • Operating income on net sales is expected to increase further due to the improvement of the gross profit margin, and operating income is expected to increase by double-digits.

"Aiming to set record-high profits with a double-digit increase in net sales and increase in operating income by more than 1.3 times compared to the same period of the previous year. We are aiming to set a record high in operating income, ordinary income, and net income: operating income and ordinary income are to be the first time in 15 years since 2007, net income is to be the first time in 3 years since 2019."
