Panasonic executive: camera businesses not expected to grow significantly with the exception of video mirrorless cameras


The Japanese site Newswitch published an interview with the president of Panasonic Entertainment & Communication Akira Toyoshima who said that the camera business is not expected to grow significantly with the exception of video mirrorless cameras:

"The company will shift revenue sources from the existing TV and camera businesses, which are not expected to grow significantly in the future due to the rapid progress of Chinese and Korean companies and the spread of smartphones.

In addition to new businesses, growth business areas include televisions, video mirrorless cameras, headphones, and intercoms, which have a high degree of installation freedom."

Panasonic recently released its Q2/2023 financial results: sales increased, while profit declined (they do not provide details on their camera sales):
