Panasonic press event in China: new partnership with DJI, LiDAR autofocus, new S lens roadmap


On the previously reported L-mount event at the Photo & Imaging show in Shanghai 2023 Panasonic made several announcements:

Partnership with DJI (DJI was recently accepted as part of the L Mounr Alliance). The presentation materials show a LiDAR autofocus unit attached to a Panasonic camera - this rumor was reported last year:

Here is the current DJI LiDAR range finder:


New Panasonic S lens roadmap with two new entries:


  • New zoom lens in the  30-70mm range (maybe 28-70mm f/2.8?)
  • New zoom lens in the 100-400mm range

They also mentioned more in-depth cooperation, gimbal data communication, intelligent follow-up, and more:
