JVC Kenwood will not buy Pentax

This rumor surfaced a month ago and was quickly denied by JVC and Hoya. Today, two different sources (Bloomberg and Asahi) report that JVC was considering purchasing Pentax but those plans were abandoned. Via Xitek

More Pentax 645D details

Some more info on the upcoming Pentax 645D: 39.5 MP, SD HC card, DNG format, HDMI. Expected release date: Q1 of 2010. On the same topic: according to this post on PentaxForums the 645D will be released in April, 2010. Pentax does not have plans to produce a full frame DSLR for now.

JVC to buy Pentax, Hoya denies it

Pentax K-m discontinued

Pentax K-m is now discontinued according to Pentax Japan (Google translation) and so is the DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED lens. The new Pentax K-x is considered to be the replacement of the K-m model. Pentax USA website also doesn’t list the K-m as an available model.
