Tamron is working on a new version of its current AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens that should be released soon. Initially this lens was scheduled to be released at Photokina, but then it was delayed. The new lens is expected to be significantly smaller than its predecessor (the current model weights 550g|19.4oz).

Update: the price in Europe seems to be € 449,00. Tamron will announce the price of the new Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD lens on July 29th, 2010 (+/- 1 day depending on your location).
