Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4 Apo Planar T* lens to be announced tomorrow (US price: $4,490)

Tomorrow Zeiss will announce their new Otus 85mm f/1.4 Apo Planar T* lens. The US price will be $4,490 ($500 more than the 55mm version).

I have ben reporting rumors on the Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4 lens since February 2013 and now we finally have the first picture of the new lens courtesy of digicame-info. The official announcement will be on September 8th. The US price will be $4,500.

Zeiss has a new Photokina teaser on their blog – it looks like they will be announcing several new lenses. The lens on the top left seems to be for a mirrorless camera, while the big lens on the lower left I think is the new Otus (see Photokina 2014 rumors roundup).
