Sony/Zeiss and Mamiya rumored to release medium format digital rangefinder cameras

The current Mamiya 7 II medium format camera

I got an interesting tip from a very good source: Sony/Zeiss and Mamiya will both release new digital medium format rangefinder-styled cameras in the next 12 months. Sony is already producing a medium format sensor used in the latest cameras from PhaseOne and Hasselblad. I do not have any additional information for now.

Samsung is rumored to announce a new NX Achromatic (black and white) mirrorless camera

Here is some additional information on the upcoming Samsung mirrorless camera with a black and white sensor I already mentioned last week: Samsung will unveil a new limited edition version of the NX300 mirrorless camera with a black and white version of the same 20 megapixels sensor and no low pass filter (similar to the Leica Monochrom).

Q: Currently no Canon camera offers more than 22MP. Do your DSLR customers ask for higher resolution?
A: Yes. We know that many of our customers need more resolution and this is under consideration. In the very near future you can expect us to show something in terms of mirrorless and also a higher resolution sensor.

The sensor inside the new Canon G7x camera is probably produced by Sony (both the Powershot G7X and Sony RX100M3 have a 1″ (13.2 x 8.8 mm), 20.9MP sensor inside):
