The Sony A6000 camera is currently $200 off at Amazon and Adorama. Maybe this time there is really a new A7000 model coming out soon? Sony has a press conference scheduled for September 11th and forums are already predicting the announcement of the A6000 successor.

Canon working on 8k Cinema EOS system camera, 8K reference display and 120MP SLR camera

New Zeiss Otus 24mm f/1.4 lens could be announced this week

Lloyd Chambers mentioned on his website that he is traveling to Zeiss in Oberkochen, Germany to attend a special Zeiss press event that will take place later this week:

"I’ve never been to see Zeiss in Germany, and so off I go (8 Sept) to attend a special Zeiss press event later this week."

This matches with previous rumors of a new Zeiss Otus 24mm f/1.4 lens rumored to be announced this month. Stay tuned for details.

JK Imaging announced a new 4k version of the Kodak PixPro SP360 action camera ($299). Here are the main specs:

  • 12 megapixels, BSICMOS sensor
  • Fixed focus lens (F.2.8) that takes 360° spherical images
  • Viewing options: Dome (235°), Front, Global (360°), Ring, Segment (180° front and 180°rear) or Panorama mode
