Sony reassures that A mount will stay alive

Few weeks ago Amateurphotographer reported that Sony is still committed to the A-mount:

"Though designed to work with E-mount lenses, Sony UK's head of digital imaging, Frederik Lange, stressed that the A3000 launch does not signal the end of A-mount cameras."

The a99 camera will run out of production in late November. The Sony a65 camera is already listed as discontinued on the Sony Store website:

Canon EOS M2 camera references appear in DPP software

A dpreview forum member discovered reference to an "EOS M2" camera in the latest DPP (Digital Photo Professional) version:

"If the shooting result is dark or the contrast is low, you can use the Auto Lighting Optimizer function to auto-correct the brightness and contrast, and obtain a more pleasant image. You can also change the settings of the image shot with the camera's Auto Lighting Optimizer function. This function is compatible only with RAW images shot with EOS-1D X, EOS-1D C, EOS-1D Mark IV, EOS 5D Mark III, EOS 5D Mark II, EOS 6D, EOS 7D, EOS 70D, EOS 60D, EOS 50D, EOS REBEL T5i/700D, EOS REBEL SL1/100D, EOS REBEL T4i/650D, EOS REBEL T3i/600D, EOS REBEL T2i/550D, EOS REBEL T1i/500D, EOS REBEL T3/1100D, EOS M2 and EOS M."

There are also several "M2" references in the help section (see picture above).

Rumors: full frame Pentax DSLR, K-3 specs and a new DA 18-70mm f/2.8 lens

The above picture comes form the Chinese forum xitek and it looks like a Pentax DSLR camera with a full frame mirror box (I changed the brightness of the second image for a better view). For comparison, this is the APC-S sized mirror box of the Pentax K-5:

Photographer leaks pictures on Facebook taken with a new Sony NEX-7R camera

The New York based photographer Clayton Nelson published several pictures on Facebook taken with "Sony NEX-7R, a new prototype APS sensor digital camera”. The images are now removed. This is the rest of his comments:

"I emailed Sony some of the images I took earlier in the week, explaining how delighted I was with the camera, especially the color sensor. These cameras are far beyond playthings. I believe that they can be utilized as substantial tools in an artistic format. They are certainly not toys.."
