As I mentioned already back in April, the Panasonic Lumix G3 (DMC-G3) camera will be announced tomorrow, May 12th. The G10 was already discontinued back in January of 2011 and a new replacement was expected since. The new G3 is supposed to have a brand new sensor. More info in few hours.
The new Sony 30mm f/3.5 Macro lens for E mount leaked a week ago in a recent Sony Canada price list. Here is the first image of this lens that should be announced in the next few weeks probably together with the NEX C3 and a35 camera:
I just came across this startup company called Lytro that is trying to remove “the physical constraints of camera and lens systems” by using computational photography processes:
“A Lytro camera can do things that have been considered impossible since the invention of photography. The ability to focus a picture after you take the shot is one striking example, and only the tip of the iceberg. Computational cameras will make photography dramatically simpler, higher performance, and much more fun.”
You can play with the provided simulation to get an idea of what they are trying to achieve.
The Fuji X100 camera (see review) now costs $1400 at B&H. Currently the price increase is only at B&H, but I will not be surprised if others will follow (similar to the recent Nikon price increases):
Amazon is still taking pre-orders at the original price of $1,199.95. The lens hood + adapter and the X100 leather case are also available for pre-order.
Few days ago Fujifilm posted new articles about the X100 processor and several interviews with photographers who have used the camera.
I have been collecting those links for few weeks and never got the chance to publish them:
Here is another “monster machine” – the Naneye camera has 250×150 px resolution and size of 1 x 1mm:
On March 1st, 2010 Noktor officially announced their first 50mm f/0.95 lens for m4/3. If I remember correctly, they were even taking pre-orders at some point. Well, Noktor is now officially gone – this tweet came just few minutes ago:
Sony distributed their latest consumer repair guide and the a77 camera is listed in the SLR/SLT/SEL section:
Sony already showed a prototype of the a77 at the CP+ show in Japan. The camera is rumored to have a new 24MP Exmor APS HD CMOS sensors, full HD video (AVCHD) with continuous AF, magnesium alloy body, new EVF and very high ISO capabilities. The official announcement should be in the next few months. Here are some detailed a77 specs:
The current Sony Alpha rebate program will expire on May 14th, 2012. The Sony NEX rebates will expire on June 30th, 2012:
Today Samyang also announced the availability of their 8mm f/3.5 Fish-eye CS VG10 lens designed specifically for the Sony NEX-VG10 camcorder:
