Those are the new Fujinon XF lenses for 2013

Few months ago Fuji published their Fujinon XF lenses roadmap. The 14mm f/2.8 and 18-55mm f/2.8-4 lenses were already released two weeks ago. Yesterday at Photokina Fujifilm showed prototypes of all lenses that will be released in 2013 (only the 56mm f/1.4 lens is missing):

Zeiss announces new SLR lens family for high-resolution full frame DSLR cameras

New Phottix products: Strato, Ares TTL flash trigger and MitrosTM TTL flash

The Phottix Strato TTL Flash Trigger will come in Canon, Nikon and Sony versions and will be released at the end of the year:

"The Strato TTL Flash Trigger provides an easy-to-use and affordable TTL flash triggering solution to photographers. High-speed and second curtain sync are supported in this 4-channel, 2.4 GHz transmitter and receiver set. Shoot at maximum shutter speeds of 1/8000 s."

Phottix also announced the Ares flash trigger:

Think Tank Photo announces CityWalker and Airport Navigator camera bags

The CityWalker messenger bag series are designed with the urban photographer in mind.  Extremely lightweight, the bags have a sound silencer on the main flap, extra flaps for smaller lenses with a fully lined velex insert for maximum customization, internal pockets that fit a pro-size flash, and a removable padded insert.

The Airport Navigator bag, the photography industry’s first rolling pilot’s case, allows photographers to access gear from the top and the front.  It holds two pro-size bodies, plus three to six extra lenses and most 15.4” laptops, iPads and documents.

Zeiss to produce lenses for Sony NEX and Fuji XF mirrorless system cameras

Zeiss announced on their blog plans to produce lenses for Sony NEX and Fuji XF mirrorless cameras. The first three lenses currently in development are 2.8/12, 1.8/32 and 2.8/50 macro. What to expect:

  • All new Zeiss mirrorless lenses will have autofocus
  • Zeiss lenses for X-mount will have also a manual aperture setting
  • Priced at around EUR 1,000
  • Shipping will start in early summer 2013
  • The new lenses will be made in Japan
  • For now Zeiss will not make lenses for Micro Four Thirds because... their sensor is too small (finally someone said it)
