Sony already has several 50mm lenses (50mm f/1.2 GM, 50mm f/1.8, 50mm f/2.5 G, 50mm f/2.8 Macro, 50mm f/1.4 ZA, 50mm f/1.8 OSS). The new FE 50mm f/1.4 GM will be a smaller/lighter and cheaper option to the existing Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM which is priced at $2,000.

The official announcement will most likely be at the CP+ show in February.
