Announced: Panasonic 6K Lumix BS1H mirrorless full-frame box-style cinema camera (L-mount)

The previously rumored Panasonic 6K Lumix BS1H mirrorless full-frame box-style cinema camera for L-mount is now officially announced. Pre-orders are open at Adorama and B&H Photo. Key features of the Panasonic LUMIX BS1H (more info available here):

  • 24.2MP 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor with Dual Native ISO
  • Multi-Camera Control up to 12 units
  • 14+ stops of Dynamic Range V-Log/V-Gamut, Anamorphic mode
  • 12-bit RAW output over HDMI
  • Remote control, 4K 60p streaming with PoE+
  • 6K 24p, 5.9K 30p – 10 bit unlimited video recording
  • L – mount
  • 2 Tally Lamps (1 front, 1 rear)

New BS1H camera coming soon, the Lumix brand is 20 years old, Panasonic has no plans to sell camera business

Nokishita reports that Panasonic will announce a new box-style 6K mirrorless camera called LUMIX BS1H (similar to the current BGH1 model pictured above). The new model will have a 24.2MP sensor and a price tag of $3,497.


This month Panasonic is celebrating their LUMIX 20th anniversary (see dedicated site) and I would expect several new Lumix product announcements, including the Panasonic GH6 camera.

At the same time, Panasonic China issued a statement on the social network Weibo indicating that Panasonic does not have any plans of withdrawing from the camera industry or selling the Lumix camera business (pretty much what Olympus said before they sold their camera business).
