Sigma full-frame mirrorless L-mount camera with Foveon sensor delayed indefinitely

The Sigma full-frame mirrorless L-mount camera with Foveon sensor is now officially delayed indefinitely. The camera was already delayed once last year. In a statement, Sigma’s CEO Kazuto Yamaki said that they cannot “say for certain when the full-frame Foveon X3 sensor will be put into mass production“. It seems that Sigma is starting the development of the camera from scratch: “We have therefore decided that we should start over the project with a clean slate, putting the production plan for this new camera back to the drawing board and going back to the development of sensor technologies“.
