Where is the high-end Sony APS-C mirrorless camera with a built-in EVF?

Several readers asked me where the “rumored” high-end Sony APS-C mirrorless camera with a built-in EVF is. Before the a6400 announcement, the Japanese website Nikkei clearly reported that Sony is going to release a cheap, mid-level mirrorless camera. In an interview, Sony’s manager also confirmed that they are planning to announce a new APS-C mirrorless camera before the CP+ show in February. There was only one new Sony camera registered in Asia. All this makes me think that there will not be another high-end Sony APS-C mirrorless camera with EVF announced anytime soon, but no worries, a new Sony camera is always “rumored” to be coming “soon 🙂
