I was told that the upcoming Zeiss ZX1 camera will be priced around $4,200 (for sure it will be under $5,000). This makes sense since the upcoming Leica Q2 camera is rumored to be priced around $5,500 (the ZX1 will be 37MP, the Q2 will be 50MP).

Olympus could be forced to exit the digital camera market by activist shareholders - this report comes from Business Journal Japan. 43addict writes:
"Many Olympus shareholders happen to be foreigners and they are starting to make headway, which could eventually lead to Olympus either discounting their camera sales or going in a fundamentally new direction."
Meike announced a new 85mm f/1.8 full-frame manual focus lens for Sony E-mount. The new lens is already listed on Amazon without pricing (the Canon EF version is with AF and it is priced at $189.99). Additional information, including technical specifications:

CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their January report and the numbers do not look good - the total number of shipped digital cameras is lower compared to the same month in previous years (orange: 2019, black: 2018, blue: 2017, click for larger view).
DSLR shipments are down 21.8%, mirrorless is down 14.8%, compacts are down 31.6%, lenses for smaller than 35mm cameras down 26.6%, lenses for 35mm cameras down 4.9%. Hard to believe that mirrorless is down double digits with all the new models that have been released.
