Canon is bragging about having the world’s largest high-sensitivity CMOS sensor (20cm square):
“In the pursuit of further improving the sensitivity of imaging elements, Canon has embraced the challenge of achieving higher levels of sensitivity and larger element sizes while maintaining high-speed readout performance, and has succeeded in developing the world’s largest class of CMOS image sensor measuring approximately 20 cm square. At present, the standard diameter of the silicon wafers on which CMOS sensors are fabricated is 12 inches (approx. 30 cm). As such, a 20-cm-square sensor is the largest size that can be manufactured based on these dimensions, and is equivalent to nearly 40 times the size of a 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor.”

AMS announced (former CMOSIS) that they are starting production of their latest CMV50000 CMOS full frame sensor (48MP, global shutter, 7920 x 6004, 4.6µm-sized pixels, 30 fps with 12-bit pixel depth at full resolution or a binned 4K and 8K modes, up to 60 fps with pixel sub-sampling at 4K resolution, per unit pricing is €3,450):

Sony has registered online a new WW213188 camera. As SonyAddict noted, this will most likely be a new point and shoot camera since it doesn’t have built-in Bluetooth (all of Sony’s advanced cameras have Bluetooth). We can assume that this registration is not for the expected/rumored Sony a6700, a7SIII, or RX10V models since the current Sony a6500, Sony RX100IV, and Sony a7III all have Bluetooth but the Sony a7SII doesn’t:

Canon registered four new lenses with the Russian certification authority. This brings the total number of registered and not-yet-announced Canon lenses to five. The new lenses will be made in Japan (Canon Utsunomiya Factory, Oita Factory).
