New trademark registered for Fuji X-H digital camera

Fujifilm registered a new trademark for the name X-H (Fujifilm X-H). The filing clearly describes the X-H as a digital camera:

Digital cameras; lenses for digital cameras; digital camera flashes; cases adapted for digital cameras; straps for digital cameras; image sensors for digital cameras.

The Olympus E-M10 Mark III camera has a 16MP sensor, not 20MP as some reports suggested

The Olympus E-M10 Mark III specifications leaked online. As I already reported, the new MFT model will have 4k video and will be released by the end of the year. The rumors about a 20MP sensor that have been repeated by some websites for months were completely wrong – the E-M10 Mark III will have a 16MP sensor:

Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III with 24mp APS-C sensor and other Canon rumors

The first set of rumored Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III specifications point to a compact camera with an APS-C sensor inside:

24mp APS-C Sensor (the PowerShot G1 X Mark II had the 1.5″ sensor)
Dual Pixel AF
DIGIC 7
24-120mm lens (35mm equivalent)

An APS-C 24-120mm lens will be probably too big for a compact camera like the G1 X, but we have to wait and see how Canon will implement that.

A new patent was recently posted online for a new 15-40mm f/2.0-4.0 lens for APS-C sensor.

In addition to the four new lenses and the EOS M100 mirrorless camera, Canon is not expected to make any other major announcements this year. Here is what’s rumored for 2018:
