Terry White published a sneak peek video on a new “Dehaze” feature that will come to Adobe Lightroom CC in the future: “The Dehaze tool helps you easily reduce or remove haze, common in many outdoor photos like landscapes“. Here is the video:

Last year I reported a rumor about GoPro working on a consumer drone with HD camera. Here are few updates on this story:

→ Pentax/Ricoh filed a patent for a new AF system where the AF points will cover a wide area of the frame. This is probably linked to one of the rumors that the new Pentax full frame DSLR camera will have a new “groundbreaking AF function“.

→ Tamron filed a patent for a 85mm f/1.8 VC designed for a full fame mirrorless camera. As Egami noted in their post, the patented lens design looks very similar to the new Zeiss Batis Sonnar 85mm f/1.8 lens. Few months ago Tamron and Sony filed a join patent for a 35mm f/2.8 full frame lens.

→ Olympus also filed a patent for a 2-layers RGBCMY sensor.

Here is a detailed specifications comparison between the new Fuji X-T10 and Fuji X-T1 mirrorless cameras:

The first rumors of a new Canon EOS Rebel SL2 DSLR camera surfaced online – the new model is described to be a smaller, more compact version of the 750D:

→ The Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 85mm f/1.2 lens is now available for pre-order at B&H (additional information available here).

→ Rocky Nook is running a 40% off all eBooks sales this week – use coupon code PHOTOMONTH at checkout.

→ First look at the new Google photos app.

→ Toshiba announced new Exceria Protm SD memory cards for 4K video applications.

Zeiss recently published a Q&A session on their new full frame mirrorless Batis lenses (for now only for Sony FE mount) and confirmed that other focal lengths are coming in the future:
Q: Are additional focal lengths planned? If so, what are they?
A: Additional focal lengths will follow. Right now, we do not wish to publish any further details.
Here is another quote from their Facebook page :

Zeiss Touit lenses are currently up to $300 off on B&H and Adorama.

The latest Pentax news/rumors:

→ The Pentax DA 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 ED AL (IF) DC WR lens is now discontinued (confirmed by Ricoh).

→ The upcoming Pentax full frame DSLR camera may have a groundbreaking AF function, GPS and electronic compass but no built-in flash.

Few months ago I reported about a new Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 lens from the German manufacturer Meyer Optik Görlitz that will be available for Nikon, Canon, Fuji X, Sony NEX and MFT mounts. The price of the lens will be €1,400. Shipping will start in December. Sample images can be found here:
The company just published some additional information on the upcoming lens:

The price of the Hasselblad Stellar camera dropped by another $100 to $895 (was $999.99 before). Only the black carbon fiber version is still listed at $999.99 for some reason. I hope Hasselblad learned their lesson

B&H published an interesting review of the Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L USM lens currently available in their used department (see also this post):
With the Canon 1200mm lens, planning involves not what to bring and leave behind, it starts with this question: “How many people do I need to bring with me to carry the gear needed to get the shot?” If you own this lens, you had better have at least one friend who is passionate about photography and willing to carry heavy loads. You may be better off with two or more friends. Carrying the lens, camera bodies, and supports is more accurately a 2.5-person job. Hauling the gear to a location and shooting a lens like this is more akin to a logistics challenge than simple planning.
Also, there is nothing casual about this lens. You cannot just decide, on a whim, to take it outside to make some photographs. If you want to try to use the optic to its fullest potential, you will need to scout locations, have ideas of what images you want to capture, and keep an eye on the weather. Remember to do all this while coordinating the schedules of several other people who you will need to pull this off.
Here is an example of the zoom capabilities of the lens:
