Today Leica announced three new M lenses (two of them have been rumored for a long time). Leica claims that each of the new lenses is “delivering enhanced image performance and quality, thanks to their new optical design“. Metal lens hood and metal lens cap are now also included (the previous versions had plastic lens hoods and caps). Additional information, including technical details, can be found here. Almost all Samsung NX lenses are now listed as “closeout” at Adorama. Even third party NX lenses are heavily discounted.
In the past few months there have been several rumors and reports that Samsung will be closing their camera business. This Adorama closeout is the first sign of Samsung closing shop also in the US.

Tokina announced the US pricing for their new 14-20mm f/2.0 AT-X Pro DX lens: $899.
Pre-orders are now open at B&H and Adorama. The lens is available in both Nikon and Canon mounts. Shipping is expected to start in February/March.

After the Laowa 60mm f/2.8 Macro 2:1 and the Laowa 15mm f/4 Shift Macro 1:1 lenses, the Chinese company Anhui Changgeng Optical Technology Company Limited, better known as Venus Optics (see www.venuslens.net/about), will announce shortly a new 24×36 lens: the Laowa STF 105mm f/2 (T/3.2).
