A follow up to my post from few days ago: during the Adobe’s earnings call yesterday, the company’s President and CEO Shantanu Narayen had this to say on their decision to move Photoshop to a cloud based subscription:
Several videos surfaced online demonstrating the improved autofocus of the upcoming Canon EOS M firmware update. For comparison, the first video shows the AF speed with the current 1.0.6 firmware, while the second video shows the improved AF with the yet to be released 2.0.2 firmware update (both videos shot with the Canon EF-M 22mm lens):
A new entry level interchangeable mirrorless camera (X-M1?) will be announced on June 25th. The new X camera will be smaller and cheaper than the X-E1 model and it will have a tiltable LCD screen and no viewfinder. Fujifilm is also expected to announce new lenses: the XF 27mm f/2.8 pancake lens and maybe even a new, cheaper XF 16-50 zoom lens to go with the new X camera. A new firmware updated for the X-Pro1 and X-E1 will also be released, probably with updates for the new lenses.

Adobe is looking into different Creative Cloud subscription options following the massive online backlash after their announcement that future Photoshop versions will be available only through a monthly subscription. The company recently sent out a survey to a selected users about the Creative Cloud, specifically about a new pricing structure of $9.99 for Photoshop or $29.99 for the entire suite on a 3 years contract which includes a permanent copy of CS6 after 3 years and a promise to continually update CS6 to support future file and camera types. Sounds good to me!
