Pentax NC-1 next week, Pentax Q in August

Nikkei.com reports, based on information from Hoya Corporation, that Pentax will be releasing a new mirrorless interchangeable camera this summer to compete with the existing mirrorless solutions from Sony and Panasonic. This information is probably for the rumored Pentax Q mirrorless camera that will be announced in August, 2011.

Pentax mirrorless camera to be announced on June 23?

According to digicame-info, Hoya corporation will have a press conference on June 23rd, 2011 at 1:00pm in Japan and will announce a “digital camera with world’s smallest interchangeable lens”.

Second Fuji X100 firmware update should be released next week

According to this Facebook comment from Fujifilm USA, the second firmware update for the X100 should be released next week: A week ago Fujifilm Japan confirmed that they are working on a new firmware version that will address some of the firmware issues reported by owners.

The first Pentax Boutique in the US is now closed

I received some information that one year after its opening, the first Pentax store in the US is now closed as a result of Pentax dropping Willoughby’s as a dealer (the boutique was located inside Willoughby’s).
