Canon’s patent adds image stabilization to the 24-70mm f/2.8L lens

Canon's patent 2012123156 adds image stabilization to the 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. Canon has filed 24-70mm f/2.8 lens patents in the past, but this is the first time they added IS to the lens design. Canon recently announced the EF 24-70 f/2.8L II lens, so another update is not likely to come out soon.

Would like to see this become standard with Nikon to help combat jittery video when it’s needed plus the obvious benefit for low light shooting; I’ll deal with the weight with a smile.
