Pentax will announce their new DA 560mm f/5.6 lens at Photokina. The design will be slightly different from the prototype we have seen few months ago. The peculiarity of this lens is the possibility to disassemble/collapse it for easy transportation. The lens is very long for its focal length in order to keep the price down – a long focus design provides lower optical aberrations without raising cost. The price is still unknown, but it is expected to be lower than similar lenses from other manufacturers. The Pentax DA 560mm f/5.6 lens is expected to be in stores in the first quarter of 2013.
