Wow, regardless of the fact the once infamous Pana LX series has lost much of its lustre in recent years – this deal is bordering on unbelievable!

      Yup, agree on both counts.
It’s still a good camera though, it’s just that these days with omni-present small form mirorless cameras with removable lenses, venerable LX isn’t seen as such a ‘hot’ product anymore.

Is this camera still OK to purchase or obsolete in the new world of mirror less?
I know it’s at a great discount but it’s not free!
    Any reader some advice? Admin?

    • You cannot get mirrorless camera in that size, unless you go for the Pentax Q which I don’t has the same IQ. This is real pocket camera – most of the mirrorless models will not fit in your pocket, especially with a similar zoom lens. Few years ago I had the Leica D-Lux 4 (same as LX4) and was very happy with it. Now my true pocket camera is my iPhone.

l can get a new one without contract for $450 (don’t ask, can’t tell), do you find it enough as in a replacement for a serious compact? As is or needs Apps?

        • No, but I have the iPhone with me every day, everywhere. I also have the Fuji X-Pro1 when I need a serious compact camera – I somehow cannot justify anything in between.

Just ordered one, I could not resist… This is a great camera to have with you every day. I have an OM-D but that does not fit in a pocket unless the pocket is large and a pancake is mounted….
