The connectivity and the possibility for using apps are welcomed but the lack of dials and buttons are not, so I wonder what is the price. NX cameras are usually priced higher than they should so I wonder if this camera is expensive, who are they really aiming this camera at because a smartphone interface si really not ideal for photography, you do need dials and physical button to use a camera properly. If it’s expensive, will enthusiast photographers buy it? If it’s expensive, will beginners really buy it?

  • FDF

It’s a shame it’s not also a phone, the looks on people’s faces when you put that huge camera to your face and start talking into it would be priceless.

  • Mike

“…….and lastly we find a lens on the front if you want to take pictures….” I’m paraphrasing of course but yeesh. Well, if its anything like other Samsung Galaxy products, a new one should be out in 3 months. X-p

  • Remedy

Idiotic facebook generation fad 1 : 0 common sense and ergonomics.

  • Arn

I’m curious to see the reactivity of that cam.

    • Guest

Shutter lag 17 nanoseconds, or 4.3 seconds while invisible background app updates are running.

  • tertius_decimus

    No physical controls = disaster.

    • Drazen B

It’s destined for a different market from the one people like you and I are interested in.

It’s a media device, not a photographic tool in its basic sense.

      • m35g35

Exactly, thinking Chicago Suntimes where this is aimed.

  • TinusVerdino

let’s make a ilc that’s bigger than a dslr, but you can play candy crush saga on it. Not usefull for serious shooters due to lack of dedicated controls. You’d need a screen hood with thumb and finger holes to shoot in bright sunlight.

  • Tijmen

But can I call with it as well? Because if it does, I finally have a good reason to commit suicide. Geezus H Christ…

The only good thing seems to be the form factor: it’s incredible thin and it looks enjoyable to hold. The lack of physical buttons is a complete disaster though. I’m surprised they managed to get an APS-C sized sensor in there. Any user who’ll buy this thing wouldn’t care about it anyway.

WiFi & ANDROID system rocks! but let’s see its other features & a full

review of Samsung Galaxy NX @ here I found the most complete review of this nice camera :

    • Nicko

      “WiFi & ANDROID system rocks!”

So it does on my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone…but I don’t flaunt it around as a camera.

      • Mehdi Rahimi

But you can’t change your Galaxy S4’s lense! can you?

        • MB

And how many people actually change the lenses on their NX cameras?

          • Marco –

What do you mean? I have three nx cameras (nx100, 200 and 300) with a series of lenses (20,30,60,85,20-50,18-55 and 50-200). The 45mm is coming and so will the 10mm. Great system indeed, for me better than nex, any m4/3 and even fuji.

        • FDF

But I can control my D600 with it. It’s a shame I can’t set aperture, time and ISO though.

        • Nicko

Following your failed logic – and you can’t make a phone call from your Galaxy NX camera, can you?

          Read my comment again.

          I don’t consider S4 being a camera.

          • JakeB

            Well said.

  • fjfjjj

“A 20.3 megapixel sensor, for the best possible photo in any environment.” OMG that’s amazing!! Why have I been shooting with a PhaseOne? Selling all my gear right now.

  • Reignbeau

That is one butt ugly camera (but I’m no oil painting either!)

  • babola

Wow, what were the designers thinking?!

Is it a DSLR from the front? I’s it a NEX from the top? Is it an Android phone from the back?!

WTF is it? – It’s another confused looking camera from a manufacturer that could do so much better in that department.

    • JakeB

I tend to agree…also that off-set lens mount to the far right is simply weird.

  • John

Woohoo now I can play stealthy shots with this thing while pretending I’m on a phone call.
