The latest patents from Olympus, Tamron, Sigma and Sony

Two new macro lens patents: Tamron 90mm f/2.8 and Sigma 180mm f/2.8. Another patent shows Tamron is also working on a 45mm f/2.8 Macro VC lens for Four Thirds cameras and another 60mm f/2.8 Macro VC lens for APS-C cameras. Olympus patented a 3D lens adapter that will achieve 3D effects with a regular camera and lens.

Ilford, the inkjet paper company, to file for bankruptcy (updated)

The Swiss website 20min.ch reports that Ilford is about to file for bankruptcy citing “significant financial difficulties”. Canon EOS 70D DSLR camera officially announced

Canon officially announced the EOS 70D DSLR camera ($1199 for body only, $1349 for 18-55mm kit and $1549 for 18-135mm kit). There is also a new BG-E14 battery grip ($199.95).
