What else is new?

LumoPro LP180 quad-sync manual flash announced. Kodak’s PixPro AZ521 camera is the world’s first compact camera with 52x optical zoom.    Ricoh filed a patent  for a new bounce flash.     Canon filed patents for 28mm, 35mm, 40mm and 45mm f/2.8 full frame pancake lenses.

Canon EOS M listed as “no longer available”, new models coming soon

Adorama currently has listed the two different Canon EOS M kits (with 18-55mm and 22mm f/2.0 lenses) as “no longer available”. Another online retailer (OneCall) has also listed the camera as “currently unavailable”: After the recent 50% price drop, the EOS M is listed as backordered at B&H, while Amazon only has discounted the 18-55 EOS M kit. The latest patents from Olympus, Tamron, Sigma and Sony

Two new macro lens patents: Tamron 90mm f/2.8 and Sigma 180mm f/2.8. Another patent shows Tamron is also working on a 45mm f/2.8 Macro VC lens for Four Thirds cameras and another 60mm f/2.8 Macro VC lens for APS-C cameras. Olympus patented a 3D lens adapter that will achieve 3D effects with a regular camera and lens.
