New Fuji rebates now available in the US

Fuji introduced a new rebate program in the US that is valid through July 2nd, 2016. Up to $400 in savings are now available on many different cameras, lenses and combos. For additional information, see the dedicated pages at B&H and Adorama (Amazon should also have the new pricing by now) or the official Fuji page:

A ton of rebates for Fuji and Nikon cancels theirs, hmmm.

The 14mm is ‘discounted’ by 44%??? It’s nice to see sales like this if you need the gear but it sucks if you already own the lens and wanted to sell it. All of a sudden a lens you paid $900 for you would be lucky to be able to sell for $300.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again…Fuji kills the resale market of their own gear, one of the reasons I moved away from what was otherwise a great system. Why should Fuji care about the resale market? Simple, if they depreciate their own products so badly there is no reason to buy expensive, new Fuji gear. Wait 6-12 months and anything you want will be available cheap on the used market.

Short term gain and I assume X will see its end in about 2-3 years

I doubt it. It seems quite stable even if small. Their X concept has lasted longer than some of the other mirrorless attempts.

they were talking about those organic sensors, looks like new lenses will be needed for them

I doubt it but that’s also assuming the organic sensor is even ready for prime time in the recent future — and affordable.
