Four new Canon lenses confirmed (three TS-E and one EF)

Nokishita confirmed the upcoming four new Canon lenses I reported about a few days ago:

  • Canon EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM
  • Canon TS-E 50mm f/2.8L Macro
  • Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8L Macro
  • Canon TS-E 135mm f/4L Macro

There will also be new lens hoods ET-83E, ET-88 and ES-84. A new macro twin light MT-26EX will also be announced.

This is a nice set of macro lenses. The 85mm f1.4 should be stellar.

the 1.2 was a decent performer open with tons of ca.. im sure they took it personally when sigma 85 art came out and destroyed their 1.2L

The tilt part can be accomplished with focus stacking, though not on moving, live subjects; while the shift part can be accomplished with software keystoning, though with a hit in resolution. These lenses are very, very specialized in their field, taking the place of a TS macro bellows coupled with ordinary macro lenses or large view lenses at the extreme, allowing for a practical and portable solution, though they are still best used mounted on a tripod.

All true but who wants to spend all that time in post if you don’t have too?
Also some shots with selective focus and blurr would be very hard and time consuming to recreate in software.
