Adobe Lightroom 7 rumored to be announced in October

I received multiple tips that the rumored Adobe Lightroom 7 will be announced next month, probably during the Adobe Max conference (October 18-20, 2017).

The current Adobe CC plan rates can be found here. You can get a free Lightroom trial on this page. The last three versions of Lightroom can be downloaded here.

Like I mentioned before, I just hope it’s a standalone license. If not then stuck with LR6 and maybe looking at On2 or Macphun for upgrade options.

not like they did great to Lr6 compare to the CC version, are they going to do the same with Lr7 ?

I do expect them to keep all new functions to the CC version. Only bugfixes and new cameras will be available for the stand alone version. That is ok for me if I don’t need to rent software.

Adobe’s greed is what drove people to pirate their software, and now led them to the subscription model. I have switched to Affinity Photo ($49, no subscription), and I can’t wait for Affinity DAM to be released and give Lightroom much needed competition.

  • So… by nov 1st, I’ll have been able to preview like 10 raw files using this new release? If speed decreases-per-new version continue as they have now for years…

I won’t buy LR7. LR6 turned out to be trash.

    • Can’t agree with you. Aside from performance. It is better.
