    Sony needs a 200-600 a lot more than a 400 f2.8

    • Spy Black

I dunno, I think Sony needs both, plus an 800mm f/5.6, or something like that. They have nothing at all now.

  • TurtleCat

That’s a needed lens for them but I bet it’ll be super expensive and probably quite large.

  • Azmodan

OMG another freakin 12 months without any long primes and where are the more affordable zooms like a 150/200-500/600. The rumors had the 400 being released earlier.

  • ZMWT

Give me a break; how many *indeed* are desperately waiting for this sort of lens? The 400/2.8 lens will cost *at least* $8-10K.

    • Hubertus Bigend

True, but a few sports and wildlife shooters whom such a lens might sufficiently convince to leave Nikon or Canon will probably benefit Sony more than a magnitude of buyers of any old consumer lens.

      • Judge Dredd

Nah, maybe a few dentists and one lawyer. There are no pros shooting Sony.

        • Hubertus Bigend

Indeed, not many. Yet. One of the reasons being there were no lenses like a 400mm f/2.8.
