A quick update on my last post about the Sharp MFT 8k camera: the Japanese website Newswitch reports that the price of the Sharp 8K camera will be around ¥300,000 to ¥400,000 yen (approximately $2,800 to $3,700). The camera will be released this summer.

It is interesting to note that RED is/was also trying to produce an affordable 8k camera.

Update: according to Nikkei, Foxconn and Sharp were considering to invest in RED to develop an affordable 8K camera. Foxconn holds a 66% stake in Sharp.

Thanks Nakayamahanzaemon!
