Zenit announced a new Selena 58mm f/1.9 lens

In addition to the 60mm f/2.8 macro lens, Zenit announced also a new Selena 58mm f/1.9 lens (in the US Zenit lenses are sold at B&H and zenit.store). Here is the translated press release:

Krasnogorsk plant them. S. A. Zvereva (KMZ) of Rostec State Corporation announces the Selena 1.9 / 58 photographic lens. The presentation of the new model will take place at the Photoforum site this fall.

Thanks to the unique optical scheme, the photographic equipment allows you to take pictures that are different from the classic picture - they are characterized by the artistry of the image, soft drawing and unusual bokeh shape.

“Bokeh is especially appreciated in art photography - this effect opens up ample opportunities for experimentation. It provides the recognizable background blur that is characteristic of KMZ's creative lenses and makes them popular among contemporary photographers. The new model of the device is suitable for various types of photography - genres are limited only by the author's imagination, ”said Ivan Ozhgikhin, Deputy General Director of Shvabe.

The novelty will continue a series of lenses with space names traditional for the optics of the Moscow Region enterprise - for example, Selena is known in ancient Greek mythology as the patroness of the moon.

This year, the International Forum on Photography and Video Filming will take place in Moscow from 8 to 10 October. Every year the event brings together professional photographers and videographers, photography enthusiasts, as well as reputable manufacturers of photo and video equipment from all over the world.
